WNHS Testing Schedule and Early Dismissal for Tues., Mar. 3, 2015

WNHS Juniors will be taking the ACT Test on Tues., March 3 from 8:20 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Freshmen and Sophomores will be following a shortened schedule and will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m., lunch WILL be served from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. Buses will be following their regular schedule and will pick up students at 3:15 p.m.  Seniors will not be in attendance and are encouraged to use this day to visit colleges.  There will also be no 0-Hour Classes on this day. Nominate an Outstanding District 200 Senior

The District 200 Board of Education is seeking nominations for the PRIDE Awards, which will be given to outstanding seniors in this year’s graduating classes of Woodstock High School and Woodstock North High School. Students will be recognized in seven different categories which represent the areas that the School Board believes are truly valued by the community of District 200. The award categories are Scholarship, Personal Achievement, Vocational Excellence, Fine Arts, Athletics, School Service and Community Service.

PAARC Testing at WNHS

WNHS will be giving the PARCC Test on March 4,5,6 and 9, and April 21, 22, 23, and 24 to all students enrolled in a Junior Level  English Course or Algebra II level course.

Illinois State Standardized Testing

Over the course of the next several weeks, District 200 students in grades 3-11 will be taking state mandated assessments.  Attached are letters that provide information about the testing schedule as well as tips on how parents can help their children come prepared on testing days.

St. Baldrick's Event at WNHS

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers.  Woodstock North H.S. will be holding their annual St. Baldrick's event in the caferia on Fri., March 20 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  All are welcome to come and shave their head to help raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research.  WNHS Key Club is holding this event in memory of WNHS senior Ilse Sanchez who passed away from cancer this year.  For more details on how to sign up, please click Read More.

New Family App Provides Parents with Easy Access to Information

We are pleased to announce the availability of a new school communications app for smartphone or tablet. The Family App is an extension of the eSchoolPLUS Home Access Center currently available for parents of middle and high school students. The eSchoolPLUS Family App, available to all parents, will provide attendance and fee payment information, as well as the ability to email teachers from a phone. Middle and High School parents will also have access to information about student assignments and course grades. (This feature is currently being developed for use at the elementary level.)

Congratulations, 2014-15 Illinois State Scholars!

Sixteen Woodstock North High School students have been recognized as Illinois State Scholars for 2014. The honor is awarded annually by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (IASC) which is the state’s central provider of college aid.  Only the top ten percent of seniors from the nearly 800 high schools in Illinois qualified for this distinction which is based on a combination of SAT, ACT and/or Prairie State Achievement Exam scores, and class rank at the end of the junior year.

WNHS Math Team Earns 1st Place at NIATM Competition

On January 15, 2015 the Woodstock North math team competed at Rockford University for the NIATM Math Invitational Competition, and took First Place Overall in Division A1. Schools competing included Belvidere, Belvidere North, Boylan, Byron, Harlem, Hononegah, Rochelle, Stillman Valley, Winnebago, Woodstock High School and Woodstock North.  Overall there were about 350 students at the competition.

Illinois 5Essentials Survey

This year the Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered to students in grades 6-12. The survey is designed by the University of Chicago and is being used by the Illinois State Board of Education as part of the state’s school accountability process. The survey gathers information about the school’s learning environment from the perspective of the teacher and student.
