Title : Woodstock North High School Registered Nurse
District Phone : (815) 334-2100
This will be my fifth year as a school nurse in District 200 and I love what I do! I started my medical career in the United States Navy working as a Hospital Corpsman. During my 4 year Navy career I was stationed at Great Lakes working with incoming recruits and was then the first female corpsman to be stationed on a combat ship in the pacific fleet; the USS Fletcher.. I was honored to serve with so many great men and women. In 1999 I graduated from Highland Community College and worked as a float Licensed Practical Nurse on many different units while returning to school to obtain my Applied Associates in Science/Nursing. After graduating again in 2001 from Highland Community College as a Registered Nurse I worked in cardiac care and Intensive care for 7 years. I took a few years off of work to be a stay at home with my three beautiful girls ages 9, 5, and 3. I returned to the workforce in 2009 and worked as a Hospice nurse for Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois. During my time there I was able to care for and support many wonderful pateints and families. I was blessed with the opportunity to work as a school nurse in the summer of 2010 and jumped at the opportunity to serve the community that I live in. I enjoy caring for, educating, and interacting with the students and their families. In June of 2012 I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing. I am looking forward to another successful year serving the District 200 families. My door is always open and I welcome your visits and questions.
