Things to know - for WNHS Seniors & Their Families
- enior year is an exciting, and often hectic time. Students and their parents are sometimes overwhelmed with information and details.

Important Dates
Note: This information pertains to the 2023-24 school year. 2024-25 dates will be added when available.
- Cap and gown orders will be ordered in November. Jostens will be here on November 3rd to explain everything to the seniors.
- Early grads fees must be taken care of by December 1, 2023.
- Prom is Saturday, May 4, 2024. (Students must have 90% attendance to purchase tickets)
- Graduation practice will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 in the auditorium @ 9:00 a.m. (Students plan on staying for 3 hours)
- Graduation will be held on Saturday evening, May 18, 2024 @ 6:30 p.m. (Each student will get 4 tickets at graduation practice)
- Please note - In order to participate in the graduation ceremony, all registration fees, lunch accounts, books and/or fines must be paid in full by April 1, 2024 & chromebooks returned as well.
Senior Year FAQs

When is graduation?
- The class of 2024’s graduation will be held Saturday evening, May 18th at 6:30 p.m.
When do we order our senior caps and gowns?
- Jostens will meet with seniors in the auditorium on Friday, November 3rd to discuss all things graduation. About 10 days before that, you will receive an email from them that you can look over and if your student has any questions they can find out the answers at that time. All cap and gown orders will be ordered online at: Jostens.com
How much do tickets for graduation cost?
- All people need to have a ticket to enter, even children. Tickets are free for graduation and each student will receive 4 tickets at graduation practice.
Commended & Distinguished Graduates Requirements?
- Students must verify their status with their counselor.
- Meet/exceed the testing requirements for college & career readiness. Participate in 2 seasons of sports, clubs, or activities during high school. Complete 20 hours of community service by the end of senior year. Earn at least 260 credits. Earn a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher. Be a good citizen-no suspensions or code of conduct violations. Attain a 95% attendance rate for junior & senior years. Complete 2 Advanced Placement or capstone courses.
When is graduation practice?
- Graduation practice is Friday, May 17th at 9:00 a.m. and all seniors must be in attendance in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Please plan on staying for up to 3 hours.
What if we need a couple extra tickets for extra adult family members?
- Your student just needs to ask an administrator after graduation practice is over. Tickets will be distributed equally until all have been given out.
When is Prom?
- Prom is Saturday, May 4, 2024 Students must have 90% attendance to purchase tickets.
Please Note - In order to participate in the graduation ceremony: All registration fees, lunch accounts, books and or fines must be paid in full by April 1, 2024 (Early graduates fees must be all taken care of by December 1, 2023.)
